Start with 1 Thing.

Taking action can be done in many ways. Find something you can do easily every day or often. Our voices count and actions speak even louder. Start with 1 Thing. #Startwith1Thing #RacingExtinction.

Today I got an email about supporting some of Canada’s newest climate activists, from David Suzuki Foundation. I’ve donated and tweeted about it. This is one of the easiest way to help by advocating and voicing your option to make a difference. Also you can support David Suzuki Foundation by joining in their Take Action. ” All of us can make a difference. Use your voice, your devices, your lifestyle choices or your time and talents. The collective action adds up to urgently needed social change.”

With your help, David Suzuki Foundation is supporting 15 young people from across Canada who have filed a lawsuit against the federal government for contributing to and perpetuating dangerous climate change.
The goal: Force urgent and effective climate action from the Canadian government.
This lawsuit will show how the climate crisis directly affects the health and well-being of people throughout the country.

Unite for bold climate action

The following is from the Unite for Climate action. So far ~ 5,800 signatures with a current goal of 8,000 (As of November 20, 2019: now @ 6,139 signatures). This is sent to:

  • Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada
  • Andrew Scheer, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada
  • Jagmeet Singh, Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada
  • Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada
  • Yves-François Blanchet, Leader of the Bloc Québécois
  • Your MP

Promises are not enough. Urgent action is necessary

This was a historic federal election. Together, we sent a strong message that bold climate action from our federal leaders is non-negotiable.

The historic turnout at climate strikes throughout the country shows that people realize Canada is not doing enough to address climate change. Rapid expansion of the youth-led climate movement to include people of all ages, backgrounds and political stripes signals that our federal government can no longer ignore the need for immediate action.

Sharing your actions can inspire others to seek knowledge and truth behind climate change. So much misinformation has been put out there just to confuse us.
